Brewing Technician Diploma Program (Distance Education) – Blended Model


CTS Canadian Career College is proud to offer this 39-week Diploma Program which can be easily managed alongside your busy work schedule.

This diploma program prepares the graduate for work in various breweries, including large-scale breweries or craft breweries.

The classroom instruction will take place in an online distance learning model, enabling students to remain within their respective communities and not relocate to complete their training.

Upon completion of the 5 month virtual classroom portion, students will be assigned to various breweries for the practical aspect of the training in a 300-hour / 10 Week Internship.

What You’ll Learn in the Brewing Technician Program

Our Brewing Technician program blends brewing science with real-world operations. You’ll learn ingredient selection (malt, hops, yeast, water), mashing and lautering, boiling and whirlpool, fermentation management, cellar practices, and packaging (kegging, canning, bottling). We cover sanitation and CIP, quality control and basic lab testing (gravity, pH, IBU, SRM), sensory evaluation, recipe design and scaling, safety, equipment care, draft systems, production planning, inventory, and essential record-keeping. Theory is delivered online at fixed hours, and you’ll apply it during an industry placement.
