CTS Barrie Met its Holiday Toy Drive Goal!

December 23rd, 2014 by CTSCCC

Every year, the Addictions Intervention Counselling and the Community Service Worker Programs at CTS Canadian Career College in Barrie participate in a local fundraising event to give back to the community during the holiday season. This year, the students chose to focus their energies on the Toy Drive that is sponsored by the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services. Our CTS students were determined to help top last year’s Toy Drive, which was extremely successful – volunteers collected an incredible 8,966 new toys, $13,389 in cash and gift cards, and 2,335 pounds of food for families in need across the region. Take a look at this inspiring video of the 2013 Toy Drive in action:

The goal at CTS Canadian Career College – Barrie Campus, was to completely fill the giant toy box that was located in front of the school. And we are very proud to announce that we succeeded! Inspired by the generosity of students and volunteers, CTS staff also contributed their Secret Santa gifts from the staff party towards the Toy Drive.

All donations were distributed to local children and families in need by charitable organizations working in partnership with Simcoe County Paramedic Services. Residents demonstrated their continued generosity and support during the fundraiser, helping our most needy neighbors find reason to celebrate throughout the holiday season.

We extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the Toy Drive, helping to spread the spirit of the season, and supporting those less fortunate this past Christmas.
